Tenant Permitted Payments

One month rent in advance (unless otherwise agreed)
Tenancy Deposit Five weeks (‘the Deposit’)

The payment of one week's Holding Deposit does not guarantee the Applicant(s) a tenancy of the Property. Any tenancy will be set out in a separate contract between the Applicant(s) and the Landlord

In the event of the tenancy not proceeding the holding deposit can be retained by London Move in the following circumstances:

  • The Applicant(s) has provided false or misleading information which questions their suitability as tenant (this can include their behaviour or their credibility)
  • The Applicant(s) fails a right to rent check (see Right to rent section)
  • The Applicant(s) withdraws from the proposed tenancy
  • The Applicant(s) doesn't respond within 24 hours when asked for necessary information required to progress referencing and/or agreement terms

If any of the above occurs and London Move are to retain the holding deposit, then London Move will notify the reason(s) in writing to the Applicant(s) within seven days.

The Applicant(s) must complete all referencing within 24 hours from receipt of referencing company notification. Once satisfactory references are received for the Applicant(s), the Tenancy Agreement will be prepared and sent out within 48 hours. The Tenancy Agreement must be signed in full by all Tenants at the London Move office when requested by London Move before the commencement of the proposed tenancy. All proposed Tenants must sign at the same time.

The Holding Deposit does not fall under the deposit protection schemes of the Housing Act 2008.
